Major Goals
To re-establish Healdtown as an educational center of excellence
To make Healdtown a prestigious yet accessible school.
To have Healdtown address the challenges that face the local community, the nation, and the SADC region as a whole by providing training in skills directed at poverty alleviation, HIV/Aids treatment, and a better quality of education.
SHORT TERM
To
raise money in order to establish and maintain a capital development fund
to be used for the following purposes:
To rehabilitate those buildings that were vandalized during the period that Healdtown was forced to shut down under government coercion.
To enhance the infrastructure with installations of a reliable water supply and distribution system along with an effective, environmentally acceptable waste disposal and conversion program.
To construct suitable facilities to house instructional programs such as computer sciences.
To identify individuals and/or organizations that can provide expertise for the enhancement of the delivery of instructional programs offered at Healdtown.
LONG
TERM GOALS
To raise money for additional programs that will be introduced at the post secondary level; for example, teacher training, community health, public administration, housing construction, etc.
To facilitate the exchange of students and faculty with those from institutions in North America as a means for broadening learning and international understanding.
To encourage sponsorships of Healdtown students in appropriate organizations in North America for the purpose of receiving work experience in their chosen fields of study.
To provide material, technical and logistical assistance to the school in its implementation of those programs that will require interface with the local villagers in development undertakings that affect them, eg. low-cost housing construction, agricultural produce marketing, etc.
